How to Install Curtains
Hardware: Track
Fixing the Brackets
Ceiling Fixed: Starting with the centre bracket aligned to the middle of the window, install the brackets on the ceiling so the screws are 8cm forward from the wall and spaced apart evenly.
Wall Fixed: Starting with the centre bracket aligned to the middle of the window, install the brackets on the wall, spaced apart evenly.
For floorlength curtains, to find the right height position for your brackets, take the length of your curtains and add 3cm. This is where the top of the brackets will sit on the wall. Hold the bracket up to the correct height, mark through the holes for where your screws will go, and install.
Attach the silver lever arms to your brackets using the small screws provided, and click the magnetic bracket covers in place.
Attaching the Track
Position the lever arms so they point towards the window.
Hold the track up to the brackets and align with the centre of the window. The front of your track that faces into the room has a deeper lip on the profile.
Gently pressing the track to the brackets, engage the brackets by swinging the lever arms forward in place, so the lever sits flush with the track.
Hardware: Wooden Pole
Fixing the Brackets
Unscrew the metal back plates from your brackets and install the metal plates on the wall, making sure each end plate is 5cm in from the pole end. If your pole is 200cm or above, and you have a pair of curtains, there is also a centre bracket, which should align with the centre of the window.

Reattach the wooden brackets to the metal back plates, ensuring the cups face upward.
Attaching the Pole
If your pole is 240cm or shorter it will come in one piece. Add the rings to the pole, screw on the finials, and place it in the cup brackets. Ensure the correct number of rings are either side of the centre bracket, if relevant, and that you have one ring at each end past the end brackets.
If your pole is 250cm or longer it will come in two pieces. Screw the two pieces together (the seam will be hidden by the centre bracket) and then complete the steps above.
Once your pole is centred and looks right, secure it to the brackets using the small screws provided.

For floorlength curtains, to find the right height position for your end brackets, take the length of the curtains and add 7cm. This is where the top of the bracket will sit. Hold the bracket up, mark through the holes for where your screws will go, and fit.
Centre brackets are a different shape, so you need to take the length of your curtains and add 4.5cm to find the position of the top of your centre bracket.

Hanging Curtains
Your curtains will arrive ready to install, which means they are hooked, dressed, folded into their pleats and gathered where relevant. Some designs will be tied to retain their shape in transit, and packaged in protective wrapping.
To hang the curtains, remove them from their wrapping and, if relevant, remove the ties from the top section of the curtain so you can access the pin hooks. Take care whilst hanging your curtains - the pin hooks can be sharp.
It can be helpful to place the curtain over your shoulder to take the weight of the fabric whilst you're installing. Starting with the leading edge, which is the side that will draw and meet in the middle, start hooking the curtains into position. The final hook, called the return, will anchor the curtain in place.
Remove the curtain weight from your shoulder, gently let them fall into place, and remove any ties.
Our Porthcawl wave curtains need to be installed on a wave track, which will have lengths of cord inbetween the runners to create the wave shape. To hang the curtains, start with the leading edge and hook the curtain onto the runners, making sure to pull the first fold towards you and push the second fold backwards. Repeat this process to the end of the curtain.
It is sometimes possible to adjust the position of the curtain by moving the hooks by as much as 2cm.
If you move the hooks up (closer to the top of the curtain) then your curtains will be longer and may pool on the floor.
If you move the hooks down (away from the top of the curtain) then your curtains will be shorter and may not touch the floor.
