How to Install Blinds

Fitting the Brackets

Your blind will arrive in it's raised position. Keeping it raised, pull back the velcro panel at the top of the blind to reveal the headrail, and release the brackets by opening the lever arms. The brackets are designed to be tight, so you may need a flathead screwdriver to release the lever arms.

Ceiling Fixed: Starting with the centre bracket aligned to the middle of the window, install your brackets on the ceiling, so the front of the brackets are 5cm forward from the wall and spaced apart evenly.

Wall Fixed: Starting with the centre bracket aligned to the middle of the window, install your brackets on the wall, so the tops of the brackets are the same height from the floor as the ‘Installation Height’ on your order and spaced apart evenly.

Attaching the Blind

Position the lever arms so they point into the room.  Holding the blind by the headrail, make sure it is centred and slot the headrail onto the brackets. The front edge should be engaged with the 'teeth' on the brackets.

Swing the lever arms into place and push to engage. The arms should sit flush with the headrail and the headrail should feel secure when pulled gently.

Starting at the opposite end of the blind to your chain, re-attach the top panel of fabric by lining up the velcro and smoothly pressing in place.

Using the chain, wind the blind down and back up to check it moves smoothly and stays level.

Child Safety

The metal chain for your blind has a quick release safety cog in the headrail. In order for this to be compliant with Child Safety rules, DO NOT attach or anchor it to the wall.

This cog will pop out if too much weight is applied, allowing the chain to fall to the floor. The chain and cog can be popped back in easily.

There are plastic spring toggles and quick release clips on the back of the blind. If you are operating the chain and feel resistance, there may be something caught at the back of the blind (such as a window latch), so pull the blind forwards to clear the obstacle. If you pull harder, the quick release child safety systems will engage.

If your blind is stuck in the dropped position or doesn't move up and down, it will be because the child safety quick release systems have engaged. Get in touch and our team will help you to reattach the systems.
