How to Measure for Blinds

Width - this is the size of your blind from left to right. We recommend you position your blind above and outside the window recess.
- Measure your window from left to right and make a note of the measurement.
- Add 10cm to each side, and then round up or down to the closest Width match on the website.
- Double check it fits with your window and you don’t hit any obstacles, and most importantly that the measurement is wider than your windowsill, so that your sill doesn’t poke out at the sides when your blind is down.

Drop - this is the measurement from the top of the blind to the bottom, when it is dropped.
- Measure the length of your window from the top to bottom (A) and from the top of your window to the ceiling or coving (B).
- If measurement B is less than 5cm, then fixing your blind to the ceiling will work best.
Add together measurement A and B, and then add 10cm to the bottom. Round up or down to the closest Drop match on the website and double check it fits, making sure that it covers the windowsill. - If measurement B is 5cm or more, then the blind can be fixed to the wall.
Add together measurement A and half of measurement B (you want the top of the blind to sit about halfway between the top of the window and the ceiling), then add 10cm to the bottom.
Round up or down to the closest Drop match on the website and double check it fits, making sure that it covers the windowsill, and the top of the blind is at least 4cm above the top of the windowframe, so there's enough space for the headrail. - As a requirement for child safety you will need to enter an ‘Installation Height’ on your order. This is taken from the top of the blind to the floor.
Once you’ve chosen your Drop, mark on your wall where the top of the blind will sit, this will help you later when it’s time to install.
Example
Henry's window measures 134cm wide. He adds 10cm to each side (134 + 10 + 10 = 154cm). He can round up to 155cm or round down to 150cm.
He checks both measurements against his window. 150cm is not as wide as his windowsill, so he selects 155cm wide for the best fit.
Henry's Drop measurements are: A - 150cm, B - 30cm. Measurement B means he has enough space above the window for a wall mounted blind, so he adds A and half of B, and adds 10cm at the bottom (150 + (30/2) + 10 = 175cm). This matches an option on the website.
Henry chooses a blind at 155cm width and 175cm drop.
