How to Measure for Curtains

Width - this is the amount of space from left to right that your curtains will cover. It will match the length of your pole or track.
- Measure the outer frame of your window from left to right and make a note of the measurement.
- Add the amount of overhang you need (this is how much wider than the window the curtains will be, so that when they are pulled back the window is clear):
If you want a pair of curtains, add 30cm on each side, or as close as possible.
If you want a single curtain, add 30cm to the stacking side, and 10cm to the other side. - Add your measurements together and round up or down to the closest Width match on the website. Double check it fits your space and you don’t hit any obstacles, and adjust if needed. You can also use this measurement when selecting your pole or track.
If you already have a pole or track, measure it from left to right (not including the decorative ends) and then round up to the closest match on the website. Make a note of how many rings or runners you have and let us know.

Drop - this is the size from the top of the curtains to the bottom. For the best aesthetic, we always recommend floorlength curtains.
- Measure the length of your window from the top to bottom (A), from the bottom of your window to the floor (B), and from the top of your window to the ceiling (C).
- If measurement C is less than 15cm, then floor to ceiling curtains will work best, with a track fixed to the ceiling.
If you are using a Pleat Track, measure from floor to ceiling and then subtract 3cm to find your Drop. Round up or down to the closest Drop match on the website - if you round down then your curtains will have a larger gap at the bottom, if you round up then your curtains will puddle on the floor. - If measurement C is more than 15cm, then floorlength curtains will work best, with a wall mounted pole or track.
Add together measurement A and B, and half of measurement C (you want the top of the curtains to sit about halfway between the top of the window and the ceiling). Round up or down to the closest Drop match on the website. Double check it fits your space - if you are using a Pleat Track or Pole, make sure there’s a minimum of 10cm left above so there’s room for the hardware.
If you already have a pole or track installed, measure from underneath the runners or rings to the floor, and find the closest match on the website.
Example
Sophie’s window measures 174cm wide. She would like a pair of curtains so adds 30cm to each side (174 + 30 + 30 = 234cm). She can round up to 240cm or round down to 230cm.
She checks these sizes against her window, and there is artwork very close to the larger size, so she selects 230cm width for a better fit.
Sophie's Drop measurements are: A - 149cm, B - 46cm, C - 27cm.
Measurement C means she has enough space above the window for wall mounted curtains on a pole or track, so she adds A, B and half of C (149 + 46 + (27/2) = 208.5cm).
She chooses to round down to 205cm drop, which will leave 17cm of space on the wall above for the pole.
Sophie chooses a pair of curtains at 230cm width and 205cm drop.
